About Us


The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2006. The Department offers a four-years Undergraduate Degree Programme in Computer Science and Engineering and a two-year Postgraduate Degree Programme in Computer Science and Engineering. Both UG and PG Programme are Permanent Affiliations approved by Anna University, Chennai

Computer Science and Engineering plays a key role in the development of any field of engineering. It is about translating theoretical research into practical solutions and applications that are used by society. The department has excellent and consistent placement record and most of the eligible students are placed in reputed organizations. The department faculties have good number of publications.

The CSE Department has been recognized as a collaborative research centre by Anna University, Chennai. Sophisticated and latest software have been purchased to enable the faculty as well as students to pursue their research / project works. Our department has qualified and dedicated professors with a wide range of specializations. It fosters a vibrant environment for academicians and practicing engineers to share and disseminate knowledge.

Apply their technical competence in computer science to solve real world problems, with technical and people leadership.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
