GREEN CAMPUS INITIATIVES

RESTRICTED ENTRY OF AUTOMOBILES

In TKEC campus the two different types of parking is available to park the students and teachers vehicle. The motor vehicle parking like car and bikes are parked near to Gate.

As part of the Green Policy Initiatives, automobiles are strictly prohibited on campus.

Students who live near to the college are urged to avoid riding a two or four wheeler. They are instead recommended to take public transportation or the college bus.

Security guards are employed to strictly monitor student entry, and ledgers for the entry of guests, staff, and students are kept.

Vehicle passes are issued to both staff and students based on the emission certificate.

VEHICLE PARKING SIGN BOARD

TKEC campus premises, there is separate bicycle parking. Staff and students that live nearby prefer to commute by bicycle.

PEDESTRAIN FRIENDLY PATHSWAYS

Campus has sufficient space for parking vehicles of staff and students.

Road inside the campus are well maintained

Pedestrians can walk safely through the campus walk friendly pathways.

Entry of vehicle inside the campus is restricted.

Security people are assigned duties on every turn and crossing to the campus.

BAN ON PLASTICS

Students were given circular/ brochures that informed them about single-use plastics such as water bottles, bags, glasses, plates, jugs, plastic straws, and some types of sachets or pencil boxes, and they were encouraged to eliminate the plastic from their daily life.

Students will also raise awareness of plastic pollution among their parents and encourage them to use jute bags instead of plastic bags.

Throughout the campus, hoardings emphasizing the necessity of a plastic-free environment have been installed.

LANDSCAPING WITH TREE AND PLANTS

The tree planting programme is well organized on campus.

The landscape is filled with plants at various locations on college premises to create an eco-friendly environment.

Tree plantations and garden maintenance are done by the gardener appointed by the institute.

Various species of plants are planted at different occasions to raise awareness by improving oxygen levels on campus.

Amount of water required for the plants and trees to be properly maintained.
